Team Purpose
The Programme Operations department drives the implementation of our strategy by ensuring that programme and advocacy delivery is done right first time – at scale, with impact and quality, on time, on budget and with compliance. We aim to strengthen and enable implementing offices’ ability to work in complex and hostile environments, be more locally-led, smarter in its sourcing, and with a smaller environmental footprint. The department leads comprehensively on the organisation's humanitarian and crisis response strategy, including prioritisation, programme quality, operational delivery and interagency collaboration and influencing.
Role purpose
PRIME (Project Reporting, Information Management, and Evidence) is Save the Children’s core business system for managing our programmatic projects. It comprises end-to-end project management functionality, monitoring and evaluation tools, and business intelligence tools.
The PRIME System Advisor is responsible for:
- Contributing to the development of enhancements to the PRIME functionality, including business analysis to define, test, and document functionality
- Providing business and technical support to end users of PRIME
- Facilitating the deployment of enhancements to PRIME and the deployment of PRIME to new offices
- Developing guidance and training materials and delivering training to end users
- PRIME administration in fast onset humanitarian responses, depending on need

Principal Accountabilities
System development:
- Provide end-to-end business analysis to identify, design, and test PRIME enhancements; play an active role in gathering and analysing enhancement opportunities and providing strategic recommendations, collaborate with business analysts, subject matter experts, and product owner to design enhancements and write user stories, liaise with software developers to ensure fixes and enhancements meet the needs of the organisation and are aligned with the project management methodology, and create documentation on system design.
- Facilitate the design and development of comprehensive reports for PRIME, ensuring they provide valuable insights that contribute to continuous improvement and informed decision-making across the organisation.
Business and technical support:
- Provide second line business and technical support to PRIME end users, and for more complex requests, work with third line business and technical teams (internal and external) to find solutions to technical issues
- Improve PRIME uptake, usage, and data quality by building relationships with PRIME champions, gathering feedback, completing audits to review quality of PRIME data, continuously improving support materials to meet needs, taking actions to proactively share knowledge with end users, and proposing actions to make improvements
Deployment:
- Support deployment of PRIME to new offices, including SCI Members, and new functionality to all end users; including completing Change Impact Assessments and preparing deployment materials
Learning:
- Input to the identification of learning needs of end users and contribute to the development of PRIME guidance and training materials
PRIME Administration:
- Act as the Project Record Manager for PRIME for fast onset humanitarian responses until project is established
Experience and Skills
Essential
- Understanding of NGO context and core concepts of programmatic delivery
- Demonstrable understanding of project management in developmental or humanitarian contexts at operational level
- Analytical Capability: Ability to gather, analyse, and prioritise opportunities to make system enhancements aligning with business requirements
- Problem Solving: Demonstrates personal accountability for resolving complex technical issues and addresses challenges with creative solutions
- Collaboration: Builds and maintains effective relationships with colleagues, external partners, and the global network of PRIME Champions
- Appreciation and natural curiosity for how technology solutions support business processes, how they unlock value and can be a key driver of innovation and transformation
- Passion for driving uptake of technology solutions to ensure return on investment and unlock value for organisations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain complex issues and technological solutions clearly and concisely to a wide range of audiences.
- Ability to challenge and negotiate assertively and cooperatively with senior staff
- Ability to manage a complex and varied workload, to work effectively under pressure, and to organise and prioritise work to ensure departmental deadlines are met
Desirable
- Experience of systems development and support including requirements gathering, testing, release management, incident management, and change management processes
- Understanding of the important of data, concepts of data mastership, and how this relates to systems architecture and integrations
- Experience in design and delivering training on IT applications
- Fluency in French, Spanish, and/or Arabic
Education and Qualifications
Essential
- Bachelor’s Degree: A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Analysis or a related field is preferred, but not mandatory if the candidate has sufficient relevant experience
Desirable
- Professional Certifications: Relevant IT certifications (e.g., Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), PMI Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA), ITIL (Foundation) are highly desirable
