Senior Information Management Associate – ACDMS

IOM · Kabul, Afghanistan · Deadline: 01 Nov 2026

Grade: G-6

Under the overall supervision of the Senior Programme Coordinator (DTM) and the direct supervision of the National Information Management and Database Officer – ACDMS, and the technical supervision of the Database and Information Management Officer, the Senior Information Management Associate – ACDMS will be responsible for supporting the operationalisation of the Afghanistan Centralised Database Management System (ACDMS) across multiple IOM programmes. The incumbent will work in close coordination with Programme Managers, designated programme focal points, field offices and field staff to support the complete, timely, accurate and consistent collection, validation, submission and maintenance of programme data in ACDMS.

ACDMS is a Country Office (CO)-wide institutional data management initiative intended to provide a centrally governed, secure and interoperable platform supporting programme implementation, beneficiary and service records, referrals and case management, assessments, monitoring and
evaluation, reporting and analysis. The position will serve as an operational information management link between programme and field teams and the wider ACDMS team, helping translate approved programme workflows and data requirements into consistent day-to-day data management practices.
The incumbent will support several programmes rather than a single project portfolio and will independently follow up routine data-quality, reporting and system-use issues within established procedures, referring complex technical, data-protection or programme matters to the appropriate colleagues.

  1. Support the implementation of information management processes and approved ACDMS workflows across multiple programmes. Coordinate with programme focal points, field offices and relevant stakeholders on the timely and accurate collection, validation, submission, management and reporting of programme data.
  2. Monitor data flows into ACDMS and conduct routine data quality checks for completeness, consistency, accuracy and compliance with approved standards and procedures. Identify and document discrepancies and follow up with programme and field teams to address identified data issues, and refer complex or recurring issues to the supervisor or relevant technical colleagues.
  3. Maintain regular coordination with Programme Managers, programme focal points, field offices and field staff to support data management activities, reporting requirements and implementation of approved information management procedures.
  4. Support programme teams in the use of ACDMS modules, forms and workflows. Provide first-line functional support to users, facilitate onboarding and training, and escalate technical issues to the appropriate ACDMS team members.
  5. Support the preparation of reports, dashboards, data summaries and other information products using validated programme data. Review data and outputs for completeness and consistency with approved indicators, definitions and reporting requirements.
  6. Maintain data management documentation, reporting trackers, validation records and issue logs. Apply established IOM data-protection, information-security, confidentiality and records-management requirements in the handling and documentation of programme data, and refer potential compliance concerns through the appropriate channels.
  7. Coordinate closely with other Information Management Associates, programme focal points and ACDMS team members, including database, reporting, analysis, visualisation and GIS colleagues, to support the consistent implementation of information management standards and practices.
  8. Identify and document recurring data-management challenges and contribute practical suggestions for improving workflows, tools, validation checks, user guidance and training materials, for consideration by the supervisor and relevant technical colleagues.
  9. Perform such other relevant duties as may be assigned.
